How To Reset The Canon Printer When It Shows An Error?
Canon is a famous multinational industry best known for cameras and other imaging devices. Canon printers are very robust and available in various types and sizes. These printer devices are easy to set up. Canon provides a simple interface so the user can take the printouts easily. While using the printer, there are few users which get errors. When the Canon printer shows an error, you should immediately reset it.
Reset your Canon printer
When the printer gets into error, resetting may help. Users sometimes face errors when they have made some invalid changes. Now you have to undo those changes on the printer. People often forget the default settings of printers. To fix this, users can go for the printer reset. Resetting the Canon printer will undo those changes.
On the printer, hit the Setup button
Choose Device settings option and select Reset Settings
Click on Reset All button and tap on OK
Hit the Yes button and choose OK. Your Canon printer will get reset to the default. Users can also run the Canon printer reset tool. After resetting the printer, configure it again to the PC or network. Now go to the computer and check for your error. Go to the computer and then check for Canon printer errors.
Connect Canon printer to PC
After resetting, all the configured settings will disappear. The user needs to reconnect his Canon device to the PC.
Take the cable and connect your printer and cable
Go to PC and open the Devices folder
Select Printers and Scanners
Choose Add New option
Check for the devices available for connection
Select the Canon printer
Tap on Add Device for connection. After connecting, the user has to check the PC for the driver. Without the correct printer driver, your Canon printer will show errors. Go to PC and open Canon software. Click on the program and check for its update. After updating, try to use the Canon printer. If the Canon driver is corrupted then install a new one. Remove that corrupted driver from the computer and open the Canon website. Search for the driver of the printer model and install it. When your Canon printer finds the correct driver, it will start working and give you the required printouts.
Connect Canon Printer to network
When you reset the Canon printer; all the saved data will be removed. The user has to reconfigure this Canon printer to the network. For the network connection, the user has to check a few things. Go to the network and check for its WPS. If it has a physical pin then the connection is very simple. Also, get the information about network SSID and password.
Go to Canon printer settings
Choose Connection mode
Select Wireless connection
Tap on Confirm button
Press Wi-Fi button
The printer will check for networks
Choose your network
On the provided field, enter the pin
For taking the printouts, go for the connected PC. Before taking the printouts; check the PC for the Canon driver. If you don't have a Canon driver; install it on the system. Now open the Printers & Scanner folder. Go to the Add Device and now select your Canon printer. The user has to provide the default Canon printer as the password also gets reset. After connecting the printer, take printouts with the Canon printer.
Set password on your Canon printer
When the user resets his Canon printer to factory settings; the password also gets reset. You should use the default password. Everyone knows the default password. Any person can use your Canon printer on the network. For keeping the printer secure; the user should keep a strong password.
Go to the connected PC
Go to Browser and open printer status
Choose Security page
Click on Administrator Password Setting
Tap on Change Administrator Password
Choose Yes button
Enter the password for the Canon printer
Tap on the OK button and now the password for your Canon device has been reset. Whenever any person wants to access the printer; he will require the password. Your printer will only connect if the user enters the correct password of your Canon printer. Once the printer is connected, the user can run it reliably.
